2010 Château Echo de Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

Formerly known as Haut-Bages-Averous, this was re-labelled in the 2008 vintage to show a stronger family bond with the Grand Vin. The blend is 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. The soft and engaging plummy nose leads on to a silky texture, velvety tannins providing the frame for the fresh blackberry fruit to express itself. The finish is spicy - cloves and a hint of white pepper bring a touch of complexity. Truly this is a "vin de plaisir".
