Haut-Bages-Libéral owns approximately 15 hectares of vines next to Château Latour, as well as another 15 on the plateau of Bages in deep gravel soil. It is this terroir and Claire Villars-Lurton's commitment to allowing it to express itself, that makes Haut-Bages-Libéral a fascinating property. The 2010 is fragrant and open on both the nose and palate, with notes of dark, fresh fruit and finely-tuned tannins. Texturally layered, this is highly impressive.
