2009 Château Montaiguillon, Montagne-St-Emilion

Another example of the superb value that vintages such as 2009 can provide from less glamorous appellations. We buy direct from the Chateau where Chantal and her team say this is the best wine they have ever made. Fragrant nose of crushed, raspberry, cherry and fruitcakey spice, the palate is ripe and sophisticated with fine grained tannins, well integrated oak and a long, savoury finish. 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon bring balance to the opulent Merlot.
