2009 Les Pagodes de Cos, St-Estèphe

As 56% of the estate's total production went into the ‘Grand Vin’, 44% found its way into this year's Pagodes, the second wine from Cos D’Estournel. In fact, we were impressed with most such second wines this year – testament to the fruit-quality throughout. This was very perfumed and spicy, with slightly grippy tannins, which will require some cellaring.
