2008 Château Beychevelle, Cru Classé St-Julien

Pure, focused, scented, blackcurrant fruit on nose, with spicy oak-derived nuances. Good density and harmony on palate, greater weight and power than one expects from Beychevelle yet still with its trademark elegance. Wonderful texture through the entire palate, with a lovely touch of toast lingering on the finish. Fresh and structured. Robert Parker: 88-90
