Deep in the glass. The nose is quite restrained. On the palate there is loose-knit, juicy, dark cherry fruit, with slight savoury notes and a fine mineral vein. This is a smooth, textural style of Montrose, not as tightly packed as expected, but with fine freshness and understated fruit. The tannins are more grainy here, not as round as those of the late-harvested Cabernet (65%) that we have encountered elsewhere. A comparatively forward Montrose, with lighter, more streamlined fruit than typical of late. Robert Parker: 95-97
