2006 Château Beauregard, Pomerol
Deep cassis appearance. The nose is reminiscent of ripe Victoria plums and black cherries. Voluptuous richness and concentration on the palate overlays a firm, structured core but there is nothing here to suggest over extraction. There is brambly fruit in evidence and an exquisite texture with punchy, vibrant, cool flavours that flow from the beginning to an impressive finish. Maître de Chai Vincent Priou has produced a stunning Beauregard that should be one of the ‘best buy’ Pomerols of the vintage.
