2006 Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron), Cru Classé Pauillac

2006 Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron), Cru Classé Pauillac

Deep in the glass and suitably dense. The aromas reveal pure blackcurrant fruit, with a scented, fresh accent and a hint of spice. There is a wealth of fruit on the palate which is deep, layered and expansive with a marked, almost floral lift. The tannins are remarkable; finely tuned and very silky in style, creating a textured impression. There is a dusky, forest accent to the fruit which suggests a fine degree of ripeness. On the finish a graphite, wet-stone characterlingers. Very impressive indeed.
