2005 Château d'Armailhac, Cru Classé Pauillac

2005 Château d'Armailhac, Cru Classé Pauillac

The 2005 d'Armailhac is in a perfect spot right now showing subtle savoury spice on the nose with inflections of pipe tobacco, sandalwood, and hints of truffle. Behind this there is a rich core of dark bramble fruit which fills the palate. A lift of dried thyme and mint add complexity and there is a sense of power and tension that still runs through the wine. It has really come together offering impressive detail and salinity on the finish.
