2005 Les Pagodes de Cos, St-Estèphe

Château Cos d'Estournel is one of the highest rated 2005s, this is their second wine and is surely one of the best second wines of the vintage. Pagodes is densely coloured and displays a profound, black fruit laden perfume. The palate is intense and packs a considerable punch. A 50/50 Cabernet/Merlot assemblage, this is a big, powerful, tannic but rich Saint-Estephe that really delivers. A massive 50% less production than in 2004.
