2005 Château Moulin-Riche, St-Julien

Moulin-Riche has been one of our best buys in each of the last five
vintages and the 2005 continues this run of success. Moulin-Riche is
effectively the second wine of Cuvelier family’s Léoville-Poyferré, which has
been on a stunning run since 1995. Moulin-Riche ’05 is textbook Saint Julien.
Aromas of wild strawberries and loganberries are an overture to
lithe, seductive, broad and layered flavours that rest on a smooth but firm
texture. Unforced and natural, I predict that the 2005 will be even more
delicious than the 2000 which is a great favourite of ours.
