2005 Château Haut-Bailly, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan

The 2005 is an assemblage of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and
the balance is Cabernet Franc. The nose offers restrained aromas of ripe
blackberry fruit, with a lovely pure accent. The palate impresses with its
elegance, there is a good density of fruit here, but nothing too overt. The
fruit seems cool and refined, and the tannins are gentle, silky but
nonetheless gripping. The sense of balance seems near perfect here, and
the wine leads to a fine, lingering finish. Classic Haut-Bailly.
