Vraye Croix de Gay's neighbours are Châteaux Lafleur, Hosanna and Lafleur-Pétrus. In 2004 they have produced a beautifully vibrant pomerol with scents of ripe plums and black summer fruits which are confirmed on the palate. Flowing fruit flavours are carried by a terrific sense of plummy vibrance, along with freshness and definition. This is a precise and well-honed wine that in many vintages passes unnoticed by the wide majority of pomerol buyers – one is left wondering why, given its consistent poise and balance. We do not recall a more impressive wine from this property. Pin-pointed flavours and great elegance.
