La Lagune has been a consistent performer for many years and the 2004 continues to meet the high standard. It possesses overt black fruit and toasty notes on the nose, and a palate that reveals a pure core of vibrant blackcurrant and berry fruit. This is very harmonious with nothing forced. Fine, ripe Cabernet has left its mark and though the tannins underpin the fruit they are well-expressed and far from overly drying. Very focused and fresh – small wonder La Lagune has scored highly with so many tasters in recent vintages.
