Formerly part of the vineyard of Château Certan-Guiraud, Hosanna was the name given to this Château by the new proprietors, Moueix of Petrus fame, back in 1999. Stylistically, it has been described as being reminiscent of a hypothetical blend of Châteaux Cheval-Blanc and L'Evangile, which two properties are in the communes of Pomerol and St-Emilion respectively. In the 2000 vintage, just 1500 cases of this wine were produced, making it one of the most sought-after of the vintage and we are pleased to be able to include it here. Dark in the glass, with an open nose of cassis, liquorice, toasted oak and sweet blackberries. On the palate, this is rich and elegant, with blackcurrant and jasmine characters. Perfectly balanced, this combines the power of the vintage with the charm and purity of the commune. Robert Parker Score: 96 points.
