We all know that champagne and cognac mix excellently, and the superbrand Moët Hennessy is the living proof of that. When the merger took place in 1971 it brought together two of the biggest names in the wines and spirits business: the luxury champagne house Moët & Chandon, producers of Dom Perignon amongst others, and Hennessy, perhaps the most famous of all French cognac houses. Moët Hennessy also owns numerous other celebrated wineries and distillers, including Krug, Veuve Clicquot, Cloudy Bay and Glenmorangie. Moët Hennessy is itself part of the luxury French conglomerate LVMH, with Louis Vuitton bringing fashion, jewellery and beauty to this already heady cocktail of brands.
