Maison Chanson
Bollinger-owned Domaine Chanson is one of Beaune’s oldest houses. Their cellars are still housed in its historic 16th century defence tower, the Bastion de l’Oratoire, where the wines are aged over four floors - the first three for Pinot Noir and the final floor for Chardonnay. The domaine is best known for its range of wines made from the hillside above Beaune, which includes the appellation’s three greatest premiers crus: Clos des Mouches, Grèves and Fèves. In total, the domaine has 43 hectares of prime, organically farmed premier cru and grand cru vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, spread throughout the villages of Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, Pernand Vergelesses and Corton. The wines are typically refined, fruity and delightfully approachable in their youth.
