Philippe Colin walks the fine line between tradition and modernity from his shiny winery on the outskirts of Chassagne-Montrachet. He established his domaine in 2004, making both red and white Burgundy from across 20 different appellations. His vines were inherited from his parents’ estate, Colin-Deleger, which he split with his brother Bruno when they decided to retire. From his eleven and a half hectares of premiers crus and villages vineyards spread across Chassagne, Puligny-Montrachet, St-Aubin, Maranges and Santenay, he is producing outstanding wine with a strong emphasis on subtlety over power. He also owns Topiary, his winery in Franschhoek in South Africa.
