Domaine Georges Noëllat
Maxime Cheurlin inherited Domaine Georges Noëllat from his grandmother in 2010 and is now responsible for some of the most exciting, complex and perfumed red Burgundy. Based in Vosne-Romanée, next door to Sylvain Cathiard, with well-located parcels of vines, hardworking Maxime runs both a decent sized domaine and a successful négociant business alongside it. Born in Champagne, Maxime studied winemaking in Beaune and trained with his cousins at Domaine Rouget before taking over the estate and producing some outstanding wines from his first vintage. His well-placed vines cover some of the finest vineyards in Vosne-Romanée, including Echézeaux and Grands Echézeaux, plus a large proportion of old-vine (over 80 years old) Pinot Noir in premier cru Les Beaux Monts. The quality of his Burgundy has cemented Domain Georges Noëllat as one of the most sought-after addresses in the region.
