Domaine Alain Chavy
The Chavy family is well established in Burgundy, having had roots in Puligny-Montrachet for over 200 years. They have a well-deserved reputation for creating elegant white Burgundy. Alain Chavy’s well-placed 10-hectares were formed in 2003 when he split his father’s vineyards, Domaine Gérard Chavy, with his brother, Jean-Louis. Alain’s vineyards cover good village parcels alongside two of the finest premier cru sites in the village: Folatières and Clavoillon, plus a small holding of Les Pucelles. He also boasts the deepest, underground cellar in Puligny - an impressive 5.5 metres deep in an area which is well-known for its high water table. His has gained a reputation for traditionally styled, racy Chardonnay which is a fine expression of Puligny-Montrachet.
