Clos La Madeleine
Clos La Madeleine is a tiny, 2.3 hectare estate on St-Emilion’s south facing plateau. It neighbours the Premier Grand Cru Classé’s greats including Belair-Monange and Ausone and joined the Moueix stable in 2017. The land of Clos La Madeleine has been cultivated for centuries, but it is the work put into the estate since 2000 that has seen its quality soar. Its previous owners, Société Générale worked hard to improve the quality of the estate - building a new vat room and new cellars and employing Hubert de Boüard de Laforest as a consultant which restored its previously lost Grand Cru status. The commencement of Moueix as its owners has seen that work continue.
