Clos Apalta
Clos Apalta is one of Chile's top wineries, with a meteoric rise in a short period of time due in part to its heritage and in part to the calibre of wines on this ideal and idyllic terroir. It's owned by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, of both Grand Marnier (the famous French liqueur) and Casa Lapostolle fame (the Colchagua Valley winery she founded in 1994). She and her husband, Cyril de Bournet, introduced Clos Apalta in 1997, with the help of famed French consultant Michel Rolland. It’s made in a dedicated cellar, with an astonishing six levels, to ensure an entirely gravity-fed process as well as ideal aging conditions. Certified biodynamic and organic, it's a celebration of French know how and fantastic grapes, in the new world.
