Château Moulin-St-Georges
Sometimes referred to as baby Ausone, Moulin-St-Georges is part of the Ausone stable and offers masterful St-Emilion at a fraction of the cost. It has been part of the Vauthier family (who own Château Ausone) since 1921, although its history in St-Emilion stretches back much further. The grapes are grown on gently sloping, south-west facing soils and are predominantly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc. The wine is meticulously made by the same team who make Château Ausone and who employ the same fastidious methods in its production. The château only makes one wine, but it is a superb example of finely crafted, but affordable St-Emilion.
