Château Montlandrie
Not much is known about the history of Château Montlandrie. There is evidence that it was started by an Italian family, and was committed more to agriculture rather than winemaking, however that all changed in 2009 when it was purchased by the legendary Denis Durantou, owner of Eglise-Clinet. It was his first purchase in the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Although he sadly passed away in 2020, the reins have been taken by his three daughters, Constance, Alix and Noémie and the estate remains one to watch. The 12 hectares are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and there is also a touch of Malbec planted by Denis to reflect the changing climate of Bordeaux due to climate change. The soils have a lot in common with the top St-Emilion vineyards and elevation and the potential is clear from the quality of Montlandrie.
