Serendipitously, given the lower yields for Grenache, 2013 gave the perfect conditions for Syrah in the Southern Rhone; conditions that were skilfully employed by the Usseglio estate to produce a real star of a wine. This has a captivating sweet spice nose and a deep richness of fruit; the palate is soft and plush yet with much enjoyed ripe tannins to provide the crowning structure.
