2011 Château Rieussec, Cru Classé Sauternes

2011 was a particularly good year for Sauternes, with excellent levels of botrytis that resulted in rich, complex wines with searing acidity. Rieussec is an excellent ambassador for the commune, and the full-bodied Château style is respected here. The huge body and mouth-filling, creamy texture are impressive, while the powerful core of butterscotch and honeycomb is balanced by notes of fresh lemons on the clean finish.
