A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and a little Petit Verdot, the 2006 is deep in the glass, towards opaque, with aromas of dark berry fruit, cassis and mineral notes. The palate impresses with admirable volume, fresh ripe fruit and silky fine, graceful tannins. A very elegant Montrose but that is not to take away from the richness that is still apparent in this vintage.
