Much has been made of the commune of Margaux in 2004, which was after all a vintage that seemed to play into the hands of the typically more feminine, perfumed styles with which it is associated. Château Palmer itself was one of the great successes, with Robert Parker suggesting in his Wine Advocate publication that it rivalled even Château Margaux for wine of the vintage within the appellation. The Château believes that the style of this wine is akin to their fine 1996 and most certainly this is a 2004 that oozes class, with mulberry and plum in abundance. This is a structural Palmer, with a fresh, ample quality and impressive texture and a bold core of lush fruit. Robert Parker Score: 94 points
