Sauvignon Blanc
Immediately resonant with crisp, dry whites from New Zealand with flavours of Gooseberry and Passion Fruit, the rise in Sauvignon Blanc’s popularity has been impressive. The grape perhaps reaches its zenith on the stony slopes of the Loire, of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, but New World producers are now creating wines to match these icons’ complexity. Sauvignon Blanc also blends with Semillon, particularly in Bordeaux, making delightful dry whites as well as legendary sweet wines in Sauternes.
