Nebbiolo
Late-ripening, the name Nebbiolo is evocative of the fogs that often accompany the grape’s October harvests in the region of Piedmont. Fiercely tannic and acidic in youth, aged Nebbiolos can be truly remarkable with notes of roses, tar, forest floor, and just a hint of dried fruit. Whilst Barolo and Barbaresco and are undoubtedly the grape’s pinnacle, wines designated Langhe Nebbiolo offer earlier drinking pleasure with many of this enchanting grape’s qualities, at a fraction of the price.
