Chenin Blanc
Possibly the world’s most versatile grape variety, Chenin Blanc can make outstanding wines in all styles, whether fresh, taut fizz, alluring dry whites or sumptuous sweet wines made thanks to the presence of noble rot. The Loire Valley is the master of this grape, with names like Savennières, Vouvray and Montlouis tripping off the Chenin lover’s tongue. Pleasingly, Chenin Blanc is gaining a foothold in newer regions, with blends based on the grape from South Africa particularly exciting.
