Oregon Wine
Whilst on a much smaller scale than its southern brother, California, Oregon is fast gaining a reputation as a key region for fine wine. The main grape variety here is Pinot Noir, with Willamette Valley home to producers like Soter, Cristom and Antica Terra who create wines of balance that show their Oregon origins beautifully. Typically earthy, the Pinot Noirs of Oregon tend to have a greater acidic backbone than those of California, something endowed by the region’s northerly latitude.
