Swiss Wine
Whilst Switzerland may seem more suitable for skiing than viticulture, wine has been produced here since at least Roman times. However, with just 2% of production exported, it comes as little surprise that Swiss wines are seldom seen outside of its borders. The key grape varieties are the red Pinot Noir, and the white Chasselas, which when grown in the reflection of Lake Geneva can create wines that match White Burgundy for interest and complexity.
