Over recent years New Zealand wine has become synonymous with crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, bursting with gooseberry and passion fruit. This is, of course, a huge success story, but New Zealand should not be seen as a one trick pony. Rather, there are winemakers from throughout the country making wines that can be considered world class, whether Pinot Noir from Central Otago, Syrah from Hawke's Bay, or Chardonnay from near Auckland. New Zealand has much to offer to the world of fine wine.
