2010 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux, Margaux

2010 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux, Margaux

Already attractive on the palate, albeit in an unfinished and understated way, the palate displays cool greengage fruit with sappy acidity and an overlying buttery richness. The first impression is of soft sweet fruit, which morphs into a crisp, savoury finish. Although well-integrated, the desired acidity shines through on the long finish. Despite concerns about high alcohol, it's not noticeable. The only problem is that owing to strict selection, the quantity is low, leading of course to the usual scramble for allocations.
