2005 Fontaine, Dominique Portet, Yarra Valley

This is a blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 38% Shiraz with
the Cabernet and Merlot grapes coming from the cooler Yarra Valley and the Shiraz
from the Heathcote region. The nose has moreish aromas of ripe blackcurrants with a hint of mocca. The palate is fleshy and flavoursome, packed with ripe plums and spices which linger in the finish which goes on and on. Ideal for drinking with a porcini risotto or roast spring lamb.
