2001 Barbaresco Gaiun Martinenga, Marchesi di Gresy, Italy
Marchesi di Gresy produces the Gaiun cuvée only in the finest vintages, from a part of the Martinenga vineyard facing Asili. Deep in colour, it shows luscious black fruits on the nose with elements of blackberries and notes of vanilla and toasty oak from French oak barriques. A modern, international style, the palate is structured with good balanced tannins and acidity. An elegant wine, and one for the long haul.
