2005 Finca La Planeta, Celler Pasanau, Priorat
The single vineyard, Finca La Planeta, at 760 metres altitude, yields this phenomenal wine from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Garnacha.
Tight, restrained but concentrated nose of cassis and graphite. The palate opens with a softness of ripe cassis, wild strawberry, damson and forest fruit. Focused, linear palate structure with the dark fruit being carried by an intense, irony minerality. Tannins are firm but well balanced. Very long and fine, this is a wine of incredible mineral persistence and quality.
