Owned by Barons Philippe de Rothschild, Château d’Aussières produces one of the best wines within the Corbières region. With low yielding vines grown on stony soil, the resulting wine is traditionally styled and concentrated - and a considerable cut above the average Corbières! This is bright and appealing on the nose, with notes of red fruits and a hint of typically Southern French garrigue character. The palate is reined-in, with very fine tannins providing a framework for a core of morello cherry, wild strawberry and thyme.
