Rather a subdued nose; fine and focused but more apricot, mango and pineapple rather than citrus orange. This has real depth and concentration with remarkable freshness but allied to power rather than elegance which is atypical for the vintage. Full and long with lovely integrated oak but always overridden by spice and finely crafted fruit. This is very, very long and once again Château d’Yquem has made a wine that redefines the vintage.
