A blend of 2003 Verdelho which came out of casks 7 and 136 and the 2003 Boal taken from cask 272. A fascinating exercise in blending not only variety, but also different warehouse maturation speeds. This wine balances the exuberance of the Verdelho and the powerful structure and concentration of the Boal to create this VB with its distinctive character. Only 2478 half-litre bottles produced.This 60:40 Verdelho-Boal blend balances intensity and richness with a vibrant, tangy cut. A complex palate includes apricot, peach, dates and almond; flavour with depth and a lingering finish. What really sets this wine apart is its pure clarity of expression.Try as an aperitif with salted almonds and olives, or to accompany french onion soup, game terrine, welsh rarebit and confit of duck.
