What better way to sample the finest Grands Crus from Alsace than by owning this cluster of noble grape varieties in our mixed case. A staunch advocate of biodynamics, Olivier Humbrecht is one of only a few winemakers to attain the MW title and his knowledge and enthusiasm are apparent through his wines. 2012 was a superbly balanced vintage, the yields may have been low but these are impeccably balanced wines with concentration and huge potential.

The case contains two bottles of each of the following wines:

2012 Clos Saint Urbain Riesling, Rangen Grand Cru, Zind Humbrecht
Olivier was ecstatic with the results of the Riesling: a powerful wine with serious minerality and has managed to ferment to complete dryness. A golden nose with decadent spice but still lean and with a textured, pithy palate.

2012 Clos Saint Urbain Pinot Gris, Rangen Grand Cru, Zind Humbrecht
Pinot Gris was a huge success in 2012 with ripeness and concentration but thanks to a lack of botrytis, the fruit is pure and fresh. Apricots, honey and pine nuts and with acidity so impressive that the palate finishes clean.

2012 Clos Saint Urbain Gewürztraminer, Rangen Grand Cru, Zind Humbrecht
Olivier’s informative ‘indices’ sweetness scale classifies the Gewürztraminer as level 3 of 5, owing to the dried apricot richness and exotic spice. An irresistible rosewater purity carries through to a soft, elegant finish.
