In 2015, the Rocking Horse is a blend of 33% Roussanne, 23% Semillon Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, 18% Chenin Blanc and 6% Clairette Blanc, from a variety of soil types and differently aged vines from across the Cape. The first thing that strikes you is the intensity and complexity of the nose on this charming wine. There is wonderful purity of fruit, with beautiful floral perfume. The palate is textured and very long: this is the best Rocking Horse yet (and the others were pretty stunning!). A wine you have to add to your cellar, and to watch develop.
