The 2014 Syrah Slide Hill Vineyard is bold, powerful and assertive. Inky purple and black fruit, pepper, smoke and tobacco are some of the signatures. Aging in 600-liter, thick-staved barrels, with no racking, has slowed down the aging and resulted in a powerful, structured Syrah that needs time to unwind. Classically austere in interpretation, the 2014 is likely to appeal most to Old World-leaning palates. Slide Hill is former Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard.
