2010 Eileen Pinot Noir, Cristom, Willamette Valley
Prettily fragrant on the nose, with notes of red berries, soft white flowers and a touch of wood smoke. Made with some whole-cluster fruit (that is, with the stems left in), the palate is a deliciously fresh blend of crunchy hedgerow fruit and creamy oak, framed by fine – though structural – tannins. Bright and appealing, this is already a very pleasurable Pinot, but offers much for the future.
