2010 Pinot Noir Single Vineyard 'Long Gully', Mount Difficulty, Central Otago, Bannockburn
Ripe damson and red cherry fruit is to the fore on the nose of this wine, with hints of crushed stone and clove spice. This is a tight and reined-in Pinot on the palate, with very fine, taut tannins providing structure to the core of mineral-infused red berry fruit. Long on the finish, with lingering notes of hedgerow fruits and a touch of woodsmoke. Very fine indeed.
