The Koomilya wines are some of the most special in South Australia, and are probably our favourite wines from McLaren Vale. The purity and precision are second to none.The 2019 Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is made in the same way as the other cuvees, in order to showcase the differences in the terroir here. They handpick all the fruit and use around 20% whole bunches in the ferment. This gives a wonderful cool freshness, bringing a vibrancy and texture to the wine. The deep clay soils give a dark, creamy character, that is incredibly powerful on the palate. Expressive black berry fruit and soft black plum, with tons of peppery spice.
