2012 Gamay, Sorrenberg, Beechworth
Open top fermenters, two weeks skin contact and no carbonic maceration in sight – you’d be forgiven for blind tasting this as Burgundian Pinot Noir; granted it does have 10% of Pinot in the blend. Vibrant, multilayered fruit with delicious sweetness and herbal and pepper complexity. This is Sorrenberg’s flagship red wine and one not to be overlooked by Burgundy fans.
