Whole bunch pressed and fermented in 500-litre French oak puncheons, the Block 1 sees some extended lees contact and a long élevage. The intensity of the Block 1 is quite impressive for something of such a clean and mineral style and the notch up in flavour from the single vineyard shows in its expressive fruit. There’s a wonderful balance of creaminess and freshness that belies its new world origin.
