The nose on the 2016 Torrione, a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, is remarkable. Notes of violets and liqorice, and crunchy fruit combine, drawing you in. The palate is silky and soft, but salty tannins grow, coating the mouth, and having you reach for another glass. The level of complexity here is astounding: this should be many times the price.
